Its not very thick because I was trying to cover alot of shoreline, but I can see some plants coming out of the water! Hopefully in future years it will thicken up!Thanks! kelly-p
Hello folks, I finally got back and checked this. With harvest going full bore and the bear baits I'm slipping a little. Also I'm realizing that either I'm getting older or this world has really speeded up. The seed is in 50 pound bags @$75 a bag. It must be kept wet and cool until it is planted. It can be planted either in the spring or fall. To seed it you just throw it out there and let it settle to the bottom. BLACKJACK, I'll have some more seed for you this fall.I used some of that same batch and didn't like the results. I think there may have been too much worm damage to the kernals. ------------------Waskish Minnow Station218-647-8652
BLACKJACK
Kelly, sounds good. All I know is that it took me a couple of days to wade around all the ponds and toward the last end I looked in my buckets and saw some of the rice already sprouting. It came up sporadically, but I just attributed it to poor conditions, too deep, too shallow, poor bottom? Who knows? I knew it was a crapshoot going in but the thought of beating mallards off with a stick as they came in to feed made me do it!! I'll be in touch, I plan on making it up for a couple of early winter and spring open water trips.
