A couple of my buddies and I just bought our first permanent shack. It is an 8x8 on 4x4 skids. How high do you have to block your shack up so it doesn't freeze in, yet isn't so high you have a long ways to the hole?

I put a 2x4 down first then a 4x4. But with only 4x4 skids youll fill the underside up quick from drilling. Either keep it clean or raise it a little more. I have 2x6s screwed together and i get close to filling in the bottom. Just watch it and raise accordingly.
