Today i went and go two fans they are 3.5 in square they are quite but they dont seem to move alot of air whats a good size to use or brand or so. tsande00
Look into oscilating 12v automobile fans. You can find these with a spring clamp on one end to clip to your shack. These move a lot of air.I also just purchased a nice computer fan from radio shack for $15. Moves a fair amount of air and is quiet. Mine is closer to the 5" size though.Keep in mind that it doesn't take a lot of fan to move air around. 3" might be on the small side though depending on the area you are moving. chad austin
What type of shack are you putting this in? Portable or wheelhouse/permanent?
cold one sd
Just because the computer fans don't blow your hat off doesn't mean they aren't moving the air. I have two of them in my wheelhouse and they move the air enough to circulate the heat and keep the floor dry. I had one of those oscillating 12v fans like they use in trucks and even set on low it was noisy and created a cool breeze.

Too much air can actually feel cool if it is blasting down on top of you.

whitebassman
O2 cool has been grate for me. Quiet, 2 speeds and moves good air. X2Plus it's portable. Can move to anywhere in the shack as it runs off batteries. Usually one season out of a set of D cells. Granted you need like 10 or so of them. FIRECAT
Picked up a 12V oscillating 2-speed fan at FF. Way to noisy and way to fast even on low. Mounted solid to the wall, sounds like a airplane taking off. Looking into computer fans.

I assume you don't have enough head room for a ceiling fan? I have a ceiling fan in my wheelhouse and it works great for what I wanted. In my previous shack I didn't have the head room and used computer fans and they work just as good, it just takes a little longer to dry up the floor. sjlund
I like the adjustable speed 120mm (about 4.75 inch) computer fans - they move enough air and are quiet on the low setting but if you need to dry something out you can crank them to high. FIRECAT
sjlund: Where could i find a fan like that?
sjlund
Try an online computer parts store, such as Newegg:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835200021
