Mine was purchased new back in 1999 and although not used much due to it's weight it can be fired over in just a couple pulls. Never added anything other than oil to the gas and never winterized it. Heck I think the spark plug is original!

EDIT,

First week using it the gears on the top failed but was fixed under warranty.
