Broken shotgun barrel

MuleShack

Question

I have a Benelli M1 Super 90 Semi auto 12ga

Friday, the ring that is attached to the barrel that secures it on the choke tube came loose. Does anyone know if this can be fixed or if i'm going to have to get a new barrel?

I'm heading to Ahlmans tomorrow to talk to the gunsmith, but was just wondering if anyone else had this happen to their shotgun and what was the outcome?

Mine is between 12 and 14 years old (not sure when I bought it).

Talking to a gunsmith, he said it has happened before but not real common.

They can weld the ring back on for under $100. After the season is over I can send it in to get the camo paint back on it again if I want.

They are busy so I wont get it back for a week...

I found an almost new Benelli Ultra light semi auto for a good price and picked that up as a back up gun. So now I can go hunting grin

Benelli is very good to work with. Years ago I purchased a USED M1. The guy said he could just never hit anything with it and thought the gun just didn't fit him. I patterned it and it was way high. The barrel was bent but not damaged so I called Benelli and sent them the barrel. They replaced it for free with no hassle even though I was not the original owner and the gun was over 5 years old. I still have that gun as well as a newer M2 and love them both. Every mfg. will have some issues and it's good to know benelli stands behind the relatively few they have.
