Rod tip

I noticed tonight that the rod tip guide on my favorite rod has the ceramic broken out. What is the best way to repair? Do I cut off the rod tip? How do I remove the rod tip guide?

Its a Lews, SG70MFS 7 foot. I won't care if I lose an inch.

Eric is absolutely right. No reason to cut the rod tip down. Most bait shops would have a replacement tip. They do make a special hot glue to glue them one. Some folks use epoxy and it does work, but I believe they take more heat to remove in the event you need to replace it again.

WOW looked on mudhole for the rod tip. How do you measure the tip. I have a caliper and its .09 inches which is 2.286 MM. I would assume i need a 2.4mm tube.

What does the 4(6) mean for the measurement. This is in the dropdown on different tips. Is that 4 mm or 6 mm hole in the guide?
