Bartering for a cheaper price?

There it's this local hunting and fishing store that I go into once in a while. Last year I noticed he had a St. Croix legend I've rods with the spring bobber affixed to the end. His price is still $50. But it's been sitting on the shelf for over a year now. Do you think I could barter with him to get it for a lower price?

I'd say so...that cost is sunk (unless he got it for free).

Tying up shelf space for more than a year, you'd think he would surely want to get something else in there that moves.
