got a TB custom power noodle late last season and had them put on an okuma 2/3 fly reel right away. dont have any directions with it and wanted to test it out today. are you supposed to just pull on line until at proper depth or is their a special way to let out line continuously like the bale wire on a spincast? just wanna make sure im using it properly

you need to pull out the line by hand or you can back reel but the reel will click like a fish is pulling line out no matter what way you do it. the whole fly reel deal is that it is geared for shallow sight fishing situations where you can see down the whole and where you are fishing less then 10 feet of water. yes some people do fish them deeper but personally I fish them only down to the 10 foot range and once deeper then that I go to a spinning reel. they do take some time to get use to since the retrieve on them is 1:1 the deeper you fish with them the longer it will take to get the fish up to you.

yes there is backing on it, TB set it up for me and put it on rod when i bought both at same time, filler with 4lb micro ice (i think)

unless thorne's changed line brand they use 3Lb P-line atleast they did last year when I bought my Okuma from them.
