11B
Over the last two days my labs paw has gotten bigger and bigger. The last day I had him out hunting he did not show any signs of injury. Now he will not put any weight on his right rear paw, and walks with it up. As of right now it is about two times its normal size.Currently I am living/working on a reservation and do not have immediate access to the vet. I have an appointment set up with my regular vet when I go home on Friday. Until then she told me to soak it 3 times a day in warm water with Epson Salt. Being on the res, there is no Epson Salt!Do I need to make an emergency trip to a vet? Any recommendations on what to do for his paw until he sees a vet?Any input or advice would be appreciated!!! MuleShack
You can still soak it in warm water. There is no gas station or grocery store that would have epsom salt close by?
11B
I have soaked it. I do not get off work until 8pm. Grocery Stores close down at 5:00pm. Checked gas stations. No luck. Any idea what it could be?
LABS4ME
Embedded thorrn or stick... Small cut... Sprained or broken paw...Keep an eye on it,keep it immobile...any docs or nurse who can check it over... Clinic that can spare some Epsom salt?Good Luck! TheLostCause
I think you'll need to go to the vet and get anti inflammatory and antibiotics both, same thing happened to my beagle. Could not find anything in the paw whatsoever and she still wanted to hunt. But, that's what the vet gave me and two weeks later good as new except waiting for the hair to grow back from where she was licking and chewing. Again, just from my own experience, I'm not a vet. Good luck
