Navionics App for Ice Fishing

Anyone using the Navionics App for ice fishing, looks pretty cool. They also have an upgrade that lets you enter routes, eta, distance to waypoints, headings. I would think this plus the mapping would be sweet for ice fishing. Already have the phone I see it works with an iPad also

I have the older version of Navionics on my iPhone... I use it every time Im on the ice... I have been thinking about upgrading to the new version but figured that since the version I have now is working just fine, why fix whats not broken...

If you are serious about fishing, having Navionics on your phone can be very beneficial... At home, you could study specific lakes at your leisure... before hitting the lake...

Did you guys just get the US version or the US and Canada version? It's a few dollars more for the US/Canada version.

Also, are all the lakes from their SD cards supported on this app?

Sorry for all the questions, I finally got a smart phone recently.

I also have the older version. The new version adds pinch zoom and some other download features to make it faster to install but I believe you actually lose some lakes.

I dont believe Lake of the Woods and Rainy is on the new version that would have the rest of MN in it. I had read that somewhere that you had to buy a Canadian version to get it, but not 100% sure.

+1

I have been using it on open water and ice for the last two seasons. Great app. I always hated taking my 30$ lakemap books on the water(I fish Lake, St. Louis, and Itasca Co)

When they say not for navigation, believe them. I have found a couple lakes where they missed an island or two!!
