Need Help IDing a tree.

My parents recently moved from the farm to town. My Dad is stumped by a tree in his yard. Thought maybe some one here could help. The tree is 20+ feet tall, has a really rough bark on it. From looking through all his tree id books, he still has no clue. I thought possibly a tulip tree. Here is a leaf, I snapped with my cell phone. Appreciate your help.

As you can see from my fat stubby fingers, the leaf is also not very big, maybe 2 inches across and 1.5" tall
