1996 Vmax

Looking to purchase a cheaper sled and heard the old Vmax sleds are pretty reliable. Found a sled in very good condition for $1300. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

There great sleds and very reliable I have owned a 96 and a 97 with no problems at all not to mention numerous other older sleds with no problems use good injector oil and regular maintenance and it should be problem free

Yeah those ol Vmax's weren't to bad. My buddy had one and that thing would take on anything you could give it. It was powerful but heavy so it stayed on the trails great. Good sled overall.

Got rigid of the 96 Vmax I had because it was a gas hog that I spent over $300 trying to get better mileage without success. Start looking for a gas station after your 13 gallon is nearly empty! If you do some research on the net, you will find similar complaints.

I have read that as well. I just bought an excellent condition Vmax a couple weeks ago and it's definately not a light machine. I will be doing mainly trail riding so it should do just fine.
