Timber
I have an ATV and am thinking of getting a side-by-side. I use my ATV for work, pulling deer out of the woods, pulling my dock in, plowing, etc. Is there an advantage to owning a side-by-side? Can they go where a regular ATV can go? Is it too large to pull out a deer? Do they trailer well, and what kind of a trailer do I need? I like the idea of taking my dog and wife along. Anything you offer to help me make a decision would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
merkman
You really have to decide what you are using it for.... I went though the same decsion process and actually went against what most people gave me for advice. I went with the mule side by side, but it was because I needed it more for the utility side than the recreational side. I couldn't be happier with my mule (even though it is governed at 25 mph, weighs a ton, does not have the cutting edge technology, etc etc.) I love it because it works for me... Taking the boat lift out of the water today....
PurpleFloyd
Its a personal decision. I know that after owning ATV's for nearly 20 years I went with a SXS the last time around and will never own an ATV again. I love the ability to have someone ride beside you, the ability to have a box to put the hunting dogs, ice fishing gear, tools or whatever you want in the back. They tend to be more stable too. The only time I see them at a disadvantage would be in tight woods.
