JimmyJames
I have a 2006 Kodiak 450 , this weekend while driving about 30 it started sputtering and diff lock light went on. The diff. isn't locked only light is on. It won't go over 21 with light on. Any idea? Thanks for any help.
Macgyver55
Had you pressure washed it or been in water lately? Could be some moisture in the connector at the differential, or possibly the servo motor that engages the lock could be going bad. I believe the sensor for the lock is in the motor. Try unplugging it and see if it runs normally before you go into it further.

OldBear
Did you have any luck finding the problem. I'd engage and disengage the switch several times. Maybe something went screwey and it actually is engaged. I have a 05 Kodiak with it and I know if it is engaged it has a limit on the speed control when engaged thats why your 21 mph. Good luck.
