St. Croix sturgeon North of the high bridge

Does anyone do any good fishing for sturgeon between Taylors Falls and the high bridge? Kind of wanted to get away from the crowds for the first week or two of the season, not sure if I would be wasting my time?

You would not be wasting your time. I won't provide spots, but last year i didn't once visit a community spot; and put up stellar numbers.

BUT it takes lots of travel time. The whole river is no wake up there. It also takes a lot of time learning where the holes are since they change often up there.

It might be worth a shot. I've only fished from Bayport to the 94 bridge but maybe there's some monsters in the less fished areas up there. I have heard of some absolute brutes accidentally caught north of Taylors Falls. I remember a pic of one on this site that looked all of 75" and there's a video on YouTube of a monster as well
