Mille Lacs Launch Fishing

I don't have a boat and do very little fishing. Want to take my teenage girls fishing on Labor Day, and see if I can put some smiles on their faces. I've read a little about the Mille Lacs launches . . . would like to know if this is a viable option in terms of action and fun. It's within our budget, which is fairly important. We live in the metro but we're able to travel. Is there a specific launch outfit that stands out in some way? Thanks for any feedback.

I would recommend Nitti's Hunters Point on the east side of the lake, but there are many to choose from and I'm sure others will offer up different names too...

Give Appledorns a call to see if they are running any launchs, otherwise Twin Pines is pretty good. I would lean more to Appledorns, they are a bit more family friendly. Some of the launch trips I have been on over the years have been pretty crazy

This might be an ignorant question, but are there launches that specifically target smallies? I work on the boats out of Myr Mar once in a while, so I recommend them as well , but we never actually target bass, though they do get caught with some frequency, at least in mid-summer. And of course, the day trips do better for bass than do the night trips.
