Ripley youth Archery Hunt question

Aside from calling people at the DNR, when will they notify people? Is there a HSOforum we can check, similar to the two big bow hunts or do they just send a letter in the mail?

They will ONLY send a letter in the mail, however, you can call to verify if you can provide enough information to prove you are the parent.

We received the letter today.

My son must not have pulled the permit then, oh well, now we will go to North Dakota duck/goose hunting for the first time ever. That should be fun also!

We hadnt recieved a letter either so I called and they said he was on the List to hunt so there is still time

My son got his letter in the mail so he will be going again this year. He is excited, so am I.

Has anyone stayed in the T-building that they offer? I think we are going to sign up to stay there. I'm just wondering what to expect.

Each T Building has eight bays (four upstairs and four ground level) in it with two bathrooms (one on each level). Showers are like a high school locker room, shower room with about five shower heads in it. Each bay has roughly 30 to 40 beds. The beds are actually comfortable to sleep in. There are some outlets spaced out in the bay. If you have some electrical stuff bring an extension cord and maybe a power strip (just in case you don't get a bed by an outlet). The free breakfasts and suppers are also in the t building so you will have a short heated walk to hot meals. Not very private but the kids get to meet other kids and just be kids. We stayed in there last year and will be staying there this year as well.

Are the Meals only offered to people that are staying in the Barracks or the people camping as well welcome? What a nice thing to do by those Organizations. I will have to make sure to find out how to make some sort of donation to the those organizations for offering the Meals.

The meal is for everyone. They do pass the hat around asking for donations.

My son was drawn this year also. Trouble is, homecoming week/football game is that Friday also! Everyone knows what decision I hope he will make...of course, first year in high school and girls everywhere! Oh, the dilema!

I am sure you know already but they do the orientation on Saturday morning also...not that I would suggest it.

No football, but he is the goalie on the soccer team.

Yeah, the Saturday orientation doesn't interest me. If we do it, we would go Friday.

The first years in high school, I can't blame him, lots of things to do...
