Fins-n-feathers
I have a chance to buy a browning BLR for $500. It has a blued finish with what I think is a walnut stock. It is topped with a Bushnell 3x9 that is in great shape. It is lightly used and it has a few scratches. It is chambered in 7mm-08.Is it a good gun for the price? What are other BLRs going for?I have absolutely no experience with a 7mm-08. I would be using it mainly for deer, maybe a wolf. But I was thinking of starting to hunt black bear. Is the 7mm-08 too small for black bear? I have heard this caliber is accurate, but how is it through a lever action?
john skarie
If the gun is in good condition, which is sounds like it is that is a good deal.I've shot a BLR for over 20 years. .308 model.I don't use a scope, and love the short length, weight and handling of the gun. A lever action with a clip is a big plus as well.Very durable, accurate rifle for me.JS

Heartman
Very good deal on a fine rifle, in a great caliber. I shoot one in 257 Roberts and hope to be buried with it - fine, fine rifles!
