MNCPRGUY
Hi All!These cooler nights are starting to stir up my thoughts of ice fishing! I am considering purchasing a toy hauler fish house for this hard water season. I need it to store two wheelers but do not want to go any bigger than necessary so I am thinking 8 x 16.I would appreciate hearing any thoughts or experience you have on brand, configuration, etc. Thanks in Advance,PJ
KrashR
Not sure how much you want to spend and what will be the main use of your toy hauler. What I did was buy an all aluminum 7x14 inline snowmobile trailer (plus 5' v-nose) and I put in 5 catch covers in and insulated the walls and ceiling. Of course its not a dreamshack on the inside, but it is a top of the line snowmobile trailer that I can haul a lot of weight and worry less about cracked frames and how it tows at 80mph. After paying what I did for the trailer I had to think of ways to multi-use it. Here are a few things I've done with it, taken it on multiple snowmobile trips out west and to the UP, haul all my portable fishing gear (otter, atv, sled) to LOTW and fished out of house and portables when needed, camped in the summer with it, used as a general storage trailer, used to haul ATV's in summer. All depends on what you main use is, mine is snowmobiling, but it works perfect for us on a few trips to LOTW with kids rather than renting a permanent or fishing out of portables. HNTNBUX
I have the same style trailer without the insulation or ice holes. I use mine for hauling, camping and storage as well. I love it for what I do as I am not real interested in sleeping on the ice. Fishing all day in a portable fills my need. I would consider insulating it though.
