how to stop windsield from cracking on open trailer with cover on?

just got back from trip north i had my custon sled cover on with high style windshield on the sled. i have an open trailer doing 70 mph slowly cracked
and shattered my windsield which then tore
my cover. when trailering your sled in the
open do you need to reinforce the sled windshield or just remove it before trailering? costly mistake first time i trailered that far on open trailer.

never heard of that happening before what kind of sled was it and was it a factory w/s or aftermarket

it was an after market windshield on a 92 polaris 650 rxl full height windshield.
i beleive the cover flapped around to much
it is a factory cover was strapped down well
but maybe not good enough.

the only thing I can say is I have never seen a w/s brake from trailering factory or aftermarket but you get what you pay for in this world now days there are some real cheap w/s's out there
