Lipriper84
I just recently purchased a Winchester SX3. I will be pattering it for 3 and 3.5 inch schells but just wondering if someone can get me close by recommending a Load and what choke you use. i'll be using it for Ducks and Geese. Thanks for your info.
BoxMN
I use 3" Gold, similar gun, and for ducks I found that Light Modified choke and #4 about anything, but specifically Black Cloud, patterns AWESOME at 30 yards. We found that #2 anything is horrible in our guns with LM choke, for some reason.#3 is good, BB is good, but #2's just don't work for us. This is shooting at targets at extacly 30 and 35 yards. Good luck!#4 about anything shoots good for us. #BB for geese is what we use.Oh yeah, hevishot or bisthmuth is awesome but a bit too $$ for me! Superduty
Put in the factory Improved Cylinder choke and throw away the rest for steel shot. Don't waste your money on aftermarket chokes. Shoot the best shells you can afford. Consider what you spend on gas, decoys, hotels, boats etc and don't bother trying to save a dollar on a box of shells. 3.5" Black Cloud in 2's and BB will get the job done. A 3" load of #3 isn't bad early season either.
