Rattle Reels

Hi-

Just curious, I got a new to me hardside fish house, and want to get it set up with some rattle reels. I was curious if any of you have your rattle reels rigged up to a 12 volt light or alarm? If so could you explain to me how to do it!

No alarm for me. Theres just something about sleeping and waking RIGHT up to it rattling.

I have hole lights on all of mine. They are just orange clearance lights and come on ALL at once on 1 switch. I built my house 7-8 years ago so now i would maybe change the lights around so they come on a little different but well see i guess.

Here is a set up that I have used and it is a portable set up but could be converted for full time use very easy. This is hooked uo to a buzzer but it could be hooked up to a light easy enough.

simple switch and buzzer and a set of car distributer points set .

Fishing line runs thru the points and when a fish bites it pulls the line out of the points and it makes a connection for the buzzer to sound.

I used to have a similar setup with a buzzer and points! Worked great! Any adjustable points from a motor will work.

I have also seen alligator clip converted to make the contact point for the line also.
