Saving the Sweet Corn

I have had minimal problems with bear but I have a yearly problem with coons. I run an electric fence with one strand about 3-4 inches off the ground and another strand about 8 inches off the ground. I never have coon problems with that setup. I am betting if you add a strand at 24" and 36 inches that would work for bear also.

We have a nice crop of sweet corn planted and the last couple years we have had problems with the Raccoons and Bear getting to it before we do what is a good way to fend off the critters.

Thanks Ryan

for about 35-40 bucks you can get a electric unit wire and insulaters.I electrified my corn this year coons have always destroyed it.menards has this unit I think it will electrify ???? 6 miles of aluminum wire at 2500 volts for 26 bucks.I set my wire 20 inches off the ground, the corn garden has chicken wire around it,thats the reason of 20 inches they ahve to stick their nose up and get the surprise
