Metal Detecting?

Anyone on here do any metal detecting as a hobby?

I've been thinking about getting one. A good one is a little spendy too....makes the cfo a little nervous.

I found a used one at a flea market a couple weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to break it out yet, but am excited to try.

It is a very addicting hobby. I do quite a bit of metal detecting, or as

some like to call it... dirt fishing.

It is fun digging up old coins. Here are some of the things I have found over the

Thank you student. Although I enjoy all of the old silver coins I dig up, I'd have to say pulling the Morgan dollars were probably my favorites. Such a big chunk of silver is exciting to see in the hole.

All I can say is WOW!! What great finds! My BIL has a white he bought in Cal.in 1986 we went to old ghost towns here in Mn.when he returned,All we found were nails,sparkplugs and nails. Did I mention nails.

If there is a interest to buy that white. It was the best they made at the time around $1000.00.He doesnt use it and offered it to me for 200 bucks.PM if you want me to see if he still even has it that was 3-4 years ago

Aside from giving a few things away here and there, I keep everything else. It's nice to look through them once in a while.

I've been using the Minelab Explorer SE Pro. Seems to do the job. Most of these coins have come from old parks in my area.

Thats a serious metal detecting machine right there! I had a garret ace 250 for awhile but wasn't happy with it. Might save up to buy a more top of the line detector
