Fishing any good at Itasca???

Going to be camping at Itasca state park this weekend, wondering whether I should throw in a couple of fishing poles, any decent shore fishing up there??

there can be and you can also rent a boat for fairly cheap there and I have caught walleyes out of the rental boats up there. Beautiful park and one of my favorites, make sure if you are able to go climb the fire tower and take your camera and binos

I haven't been there in years. So, The Racoons were all over at night so make sure all food is locked up. Coolers will not stop them.

The way I remember it there was a very good weed line and we had a good time casting and trolling along it. Sharp end to the weeds and deep water nearby. If you have a good sized weed flat (food shelf) to go along with it GREAT!
