I know you have to be a licensed installer. But not totally sure if it's your own property. If you install everything to Inspector's likeing when he comes to inspect. your good to go I think. Get ahold of your conty guy

Back when we were considering central sewer 5 years ago I read that a mound can cost anywhere from $6-20,000 depending on local conditions. I also was told that you can't build a mound over an old drain field. Claim was that they can last for as little as 15 years. You can learn a lot by looking at the PCA and U Extension websites. Many closer ring suburban lots don't have room for a second system and that was a strong factor in our going with a central sewer.

most of them around our area here are going in 13,000-15,000 ish range....we've put three in in the last 10 yrs, and one of my hired men will be putting two in this year and he was also in this range... (sold old house, and bought new one, and gets stuck with replacing them both)... So... no sure where you are at... but its a ball park from my neck of the woods

I'm a licensed installer, designer, and inspector....before you build your home soil borings and perk tests are performed before you can even design the system...also you have to design two systems on such property in case the 1st fails.... how do you know you need a mound? prices vary depends on how large the system has to be and how many bed/sleeping rooms their are in the home...the system is based on 450 gallons usage per day per bedroom. Average 3 bedroom home today would run between 8-11k.....a little tip is if you have an unfinished basement with a future bedroom I would include that in your design and install application...otherwise if you did not include that in your original design you will have to increase/upgrade your original system

Whats a central sewer ?
Just regular sewer system that carts things off so it becomes a problem for someone downstream,

Most systems are gravity based. Our neighborhood wasn't a good candidate for gravity as we're close to a lake but far from the closest main sewer line - 3/4 mile. We went with a system that uses grinder pumps at the homes that push the effluent into a 2 inch line in the street. That line serves about 65 homes. When it was installed direct line boring was used so very little trenching was required. Very little street work was required along the main road. The road in our neighborhood was mostly just gravel and so it got a total rebuild. Assessment was $15.5k per home and homeowners spent from $1200 to $4000 for the actual work at the home. We also got central water and fire hydrants.

I spent a ton of time working on this project and will be willing to help anyone who wants to check it out.

McCabe septic and farm drainage (or McCabe tile and septic) not sure which on is technically correct, out of cleveland, or Pete Forrey is south of Kato Just across 90 bypass on 16... he has done a couple for us as well... Both do great work, and nice people to work with.
