I've had the fishmark 320 portable for roughly 4 years with some regular use. I've been overly happy with it so far. It would mark anything and everything in the water column. I've marked 1/8th ounce jigs in 35 ft and watched fish come off the bottom to hit it like a flasher.
My most recent trip to Canada it did very poorly. It would mark the bottom inside of 70 ft of water. But it very rarely marked a fish. If it did it was not as precisely defined as usual.
I was trying to troll for lake trout and sometimes in 60 ft of water i would see what looked like arches well below the bottom in 90 ft of water. I made sure the settings were correct without the fish ID on.
Troubleshooting: Where should I start? the transducer or the head unit?

We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha
motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor, wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will
want for this boat? Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke
Mariner motor) I will appreciate any help with these questions.
I went ahead and watched some of the MLF coverage. Wheeler didn’t make the cut but the bigger story was the Poche/Avera fallout.
Kinda funny listening to both sides of the story and putting together the scenario, reading between the lines.
