I haven't tumbled any agates since burning out my rock tumbler several years ago. I would like to buy a tumbler and get back into tumbling agates.

*What are the positives and negatives of tumblers vs vibrating polishers?

*Looking at the low cost machines sold at Harbor Freight tools (i.e. single drum, dual drum, and vibrating machines by Chicago Electric). Anyone have any experience with these or am I wasting my money.

*Can I buy any vibrating machine used for polishing bullet casings/tools?

Any suggestions which wont break the bank?

Thanks

I like the thumler's 3# barrel tumbler ($100-$120) but I'm not polishing as much anymore...kinda like the natural state of the agate. I also have a "lot o tumbler" vibrating type polisher and it works very good but its over $200. You can spend a lot more (or less) on working agates.
