Humminbird temp probe options

I just discovered I need an optional probe to get water temp on my 798ci. Should I get speed temp combo, or just the temp probe?

What transducer do you have? I have the 798c SI and I have water temp with my compact side scan ducer.

If everything is right, you should have it already.

Why would you need the speed wheel when there is a GPS in your unit that is more accurate? Just get the temp probe, but why do you think you need it? Dosen't your transducer have the cabability to read temp? The Humminbird HSOforum shows that temp reading is included with the unit?

I have the same ducer as you Mike. I guess I misunderstood what I read in the manual. That's good. I need to finish the install today.
