4/5 - Cannon River

I fished Trout Brook this afternoon for a half hour before Tommy showed up. Four brookies in the 9-10" range on crawler all from one lovely pool.

Tommy showed up and we tried the mouth of Trout Brook but no bites so we cut our losses and headed upstream to one of Tommy's well qualified spots. Things started slow. First Tommy catches a white sucker. Next I catch a nice smallie.

Next catch I get my first golden redhorse. A real fighter! Tommy even measured at 2.5 lbs.

After that we each got a bunch of beautiful shortheads. These have such vibrant red tails!

Last fish of the night, Tommy pretends to kiss a carp.

You must have been in the Miesville area? Beautiful photos, so vibrant.

Yes Miesville area. I fished lower Trout Brook for a little bit but the redhorse were caught further upstream from Cannon Falls.

Thanks for the compliment on the photos. I love the vibrant orange and red on the shortheads. They are a way cool fish!
