Alumacraft 'Classic' 165 Feedback (70 4S Honda)

Recommended Posts

Say I understand this is the Walleye forum but wanted to get feedback from Walleye anglers regarding the above mentioned boat.

Any owners out there with feedback? I am wondering what this set up tops out at (using 2 passengers standard gear). 30? 35?

Is it good for larger bodies, etc?

Tks!

I owned that same boat at one time.

It was a good walleye boat and handled rough water fairly well.

My boat was a console type with a 40 hp Johnson. Top speed was around 26 mph.

Cracked the hull just in front of the console from rough water use.

Had it fixed and had no more problems.

I have a Alumacraft 165 Magnum with a 75 4S Merc. It does about 36mph with just me in the boat. I would say 30 is very realistic. By the way I love it. Two adults and two kids fit just fine or 3 adults. I have had 4 adults, but it gets a bit tight.
