Minnesota vs Colorado Fishing

I just took a trip to Colorado. Did some fishing with a friend and found out that there is no restrictions as far as out of season, meaning there is no out of season for LM bass, sm bass, northerns, walleye, trout etc.

I couldn't believe what I heard.

True, no closed seasons. I was visiting a friend out there a few years back and had a great time. I do remember it seemed like they also had a lot more fees (parking or access) and more regulations specific to each body of water. Really needed to keep the regulations book close at hand.

Huh? I fished out there last August and don't remember anything about skin touching water? Water access and trespass laws are a lot different, but the state has a lot different history than Minnesota with respect to land claims and land rights.

Beautiful state and not too shabby of warmwater fisheries either.

I lived in CO for 20 years. Most of the lakes and reservoirs are drinking water for Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo and surrounding areas. You can boat, waterski and jetski in them but you can not swim in them. It is a $75 fine if you do. I almost got a ticket for sitting in the water near shore at Lake Pueblo while my friends were out waterskiing.

There is some good fishing out there, just be careful what you do on or in the water.

Did they take off standing on the dock and finish by cruising up on shore. I have done the dock jump but I think I would give up the sport if I had to do it every time. Pretty had to ski without getting in the water.

Nope, I know it's confusing and I just looked at the state park rangers in the boat with a look of shock and disbelief when they were telling me to get out of the water as my friends were out there.
