Leadcore Rod Bass Pro 10' v. Scheels 10'6?

I ordered the Bass Pro Walleye Angler 10' trolling rod which feels nice but I was in St. Cloud today and stopped in at Scheels and came across their 10'6 trolling rod. I have to say the Scheels rod is a beautiful rod. So has anyone used both of these rods and how do they compare? I will be using it as my primary leadcore rod as my other two are just the cheap cabelas depthmaster combos. thanks for the help.

I have used the Scheels rods and they are very nice. I have not used the BPS rods but a friend of mine has and he likes them. I think you will be happy with either as both of them will be a big jump over the cheapo Cabelas (I have a few of these too) trolling rods.

Limit Creek makes a nice 10' trolling rod too and I have used it as well. The rod I'd really like to try out this summer is the new St. Croix Eyecon trolling rods. I played with a few last night at Thorne Bros and they feel like they have a great action.

I've got a couple Limit Creeks that are 8'6" and are great lead core rods. I just picked up a 12' as well. Feels like a winner, but haven't tried it. Should do well 3-wayings and long lining, and feels like it'll do well with leadcore as well.

I didn't know LM had a 10'er. Are they disco'd? never heard of and don't see them on the site.

I really don't think you could go wrong with either rod honestly. The BPS rods are very, very popular as planer board rods. The Scheels rods seam to be popular for leadcore rods as they make rods at both ends of the extreme... 5' shorties out to the 14' footers.

In the group of rods mentioned here, I don't think you can go wrong... that is with BPS, Scheels, St Croix Eyecon, or Limit Creek.
