07 Polaris 500 sportsman

I have an 07polaris sportsman 500 efi. I just took it for a ride this past weekend and every time I went though water it would make a noise like the air box cover was off. I can't figure it out. Just wonder if anyone has any opinion? Thanks!!

How deep was the water?

how fast did you enter the water? they can handle some deep water but you can run into problems if you go flying through it or enter the water too fast. electrical components can get wet and you can also get water in the CVT housing.

Running boards. I would go in them where the water would splash a little but I just don't understand because it's never done it before

Does the machine cut out/spit and sputter after you do this? I'm wondering if you might be getting water vapor in the intake. This was more of an issue with the old 600 Grizzly but I wouldn't rule it out on any machine.

I guessing something is loose and you are sucking water in somewhere. I would check all hoses and connections.

That's what I was thinking to. I looked but couldn't really find any lose. What was sorta lose I tightend and took it for a ride and it did the same thing
