Ice Conditions

Hello everyone

Sorry guys no pics today we dont catch fish everytime we go out. Up here in Northern minnesota we hit a small backwoods lake on tuesday. The lake was all slush. Good thing I had my danners and ice armour on otherwise i would have been soaked. As we drilled our whole we had water leaking in from all side of the hole and we managed to find some naturally made holes in the ice to fish out of. Truck travel is getting sketchy but fourwheelers will still be fine for a few more days with this weather. Better hit the lake now if you want to get one last trip in. Good luck out on the ice guys. down here in brookings sd. there is no ice. went out shore fishing tonight and going again tomorrow

Visited a number of small lakes in north-central MN yesterday. Most of them were still locked up and safe-looking but with a few feet of water between the ice and shore on the north ends. A few of the lakes looked like the ice was really degraded and soft and I probably wouldn't have walked on them personally. I did see some guys fishing and using wheelers on a lake in Clearwater County and people fishing on foot elsewhere.

Well in the bemidji area i wouldnt venture on a lake anymore. dark almost black ice. a few guys i know went up to lake of the woods and caught more pike. they said they couldnt get out anywhere except springsteal. almost done almost gone almost time for the boat.

springsteel is done too....a group had to be rescued there yesterday...

they were there today. didnt catch alot but they made it out just fine. walked out not drive and they just posted a picture of a nice big open crack that they had to cross maybe two feet across of open water lol

the sheriff is on the radio saying no travel is advised on low....

of course lol i wouldn't advice it either I'm just saying it is possible to get out. you would never ever catch me out there

springsteel is done too....a group had to be rescued there yesterday...

They were staying at Springsteel and fished out of Warroad by the river which is stupid. I fished out of Springsteel yesterday and it was fine and the fishing was even decent.

The ice in my glass of ice tea is holding up well. The lakes I fish should be good to go around mid December.
