I work a lot in Ann Arbor, East Lansing, and Detroit. While I'm in southern Michigan, I usually find some time to fish.

Last fall, I was in E Lansing during what the locals told me was the best Coho salmon run on the Grand River in a few years. I'd caught a few 4" Coho right off the hatchery truck in the spring, but none bigger than that. (I did pick up a 28" spring run steelhead there a couple years ago.)

I got out below the dam at Moore's Park one morning last fall, and caught this 26" Coho on an orange in-line spinner--easily the biggest salmon I have ever caught. Now that I finally figured out how to post it, I can put the picture up here:
