Cozumel Mexico Bonefishing

Recommended Posts

Really cool series! I've had the lucky privilege to try Bonefishing in the keys. They're incredibly skittish. Saw several, Hooked one and he spooled me. That alone was worth the price of admission. Can't wait to do it again. really like the release pic.

Great pictures! I'm headed to Mexico in a few weeks to try my hand at rooster fish and have caught Bones down there in the past. The first picture of the "clock" makes me laugh as the first time I was in Mexico the guide got down off the platform and stormed to my buddy in the front of the boat. In broken English he laid into him pretty good about not knowing what a clock looked like. He ripped a sharpie out of his tackle box and drew a clock on the casting deck grin It was classic! Thanks for bringing back the memories!

I don't know if HSO let's you link to a video or not? Tried to add it via a signature yesterday but that must have been removed. I been on the forum for years, just not that active lately so I'm not up on the latest rules.

Nice work on the photos. I've bonefished in the Bahama's, Cayman's, Mexico and Central America. They are bar none the best fighting fish I have ever caught! If you haven't tried it, give it a go!

Minnphatts, nice pictures and video. Looks like fishing was good! What camera or cameras were you using?

I enjoy shooting with a variety of cameras. I've got Nikon and Canon DSLRs that I shoot a lot of my commercial work with. For this trip I wanted to try to pack light and waterproof, so I shot the video and stills with a GoPro Hero and a Panasonic TS3. As I mentioned on my blog, these little compact cameras give you both amazing and disappointing results. Shooting with the the GoPro is interesting because you don't even have a viewfinder, but it's kind of fun to not have the instant gratification (just like the old days). Last year I shot most of my outings just on my iphone, until it went into the drink!
