is a 20 ft to big

Looking at maybe upgrading to a 20 ft ice castle. I currently have a 16 ft and am wondering if 20 ft is to big. I fish mille lacs and lake of the woods. This year you could drive anywhere but last year was a different store. I like to get off the main road if possible and don't want to be stuck with just finding a spot and taking it. Wondering if anyone has a 20 footer and what they like don't like. Thanks

Not sure why adding 4' would prevent you from getting to the same places as your smaller one. Should pull better with tandem axles. Get around plenty good with mine. We had ours custom made. 22 1/2' with that dumb drop hitch not installed in order to fit in our garage. Wish we had made the garage addition bigger so we could have went with full 24. Not ice castle obviously with the customization.

My suggestion would be how many people do you normally fish with? Sometimes I have up to 4 with a 16 and it does get a little tight. But not unfishable. I have a buddy with a 20 with a 3ft v and he got his house out 2 days this yr. Of course this was a bad yr for ice where we are in southern mn, but you add a normal or above normal yr of snow, coupled with a heavy bigger house and you just cant get around. Just depends on how much and where you fish I guess. If I honkered down in 1 spot all yr, I would go bigger. But thats not in the cards for me.

Just on a side note and not critical of people who have a dual axel. I went with a guy who had one and it took 5 times longer to get up and move and more moving parts etc. If a cable or something else was to break, it would be so much harder to fix on the spot as a single.
