It's running!!!

Wife reports that we have a decent run going. Some buckets getting good flow, some dry yet. Hopefully will have enough for a short boil tomorrow.

We're pulling our taps tomorrow, we ended up with around 17 gallons of syrup. Second to worst year we ever had in 24 year's of doing it. We'll be sold out at the first place we sell at. With even raising our prices a dollar. Mother nature makes the rules not us.

Pulled 55 gallons from about a 100 taps this morning. Pleasantly surprised given the lousy conditions. Got it reduced to about 5 now, and its finishing on propane.

Got 1.25 gallons of nice dark amber from the 55 gal from yesterday.

We did not end up with any light syrup this year. I like the taste of the dark we ended up with though.

We prefer the dark syrup for flavor. Todays sap tally was 90 gallons.

Pulled the taps today, trees are budding. One more boil tomorrow, and we'll end up with 11-12 gallons for the season.

Good for you Gissert! Sounds like you actually did alright considering the crazy weather. I got a trickle for a few days then nothing....am sitting on pure sugar sand though. Oh, well, at least the lakes broke early and gave me something to do. "See" you all next year!
