will a 4.3 fit in a 2.8 hole?

Will it fit...short answer...yes. Will it require some modifications...yes. That was actually something that was done quite a bit back in the early 80's with the s10 pickups. I even knew a few guys that put v8's in them. But, that required even more modifications. Is it a 2wd or 4wd, that will tell you a lot about how much work it will be. There was a company that used to make a conversion kit to put the v8's in them. I think it was called R & S racing. It definitely can be done, but if you are not mechanically inclined, it may be more of a project than you want to take on.

ive swapped a few ford motors but never a small chev in that small of a space.. its a 87 4wd 2 door.. im now thinking about getting a 3.4 to throw in becasue it seems to be just a drop in bolt up conversion?
