Numbers lake?

Recommended Posts

My brother-in-law and I are looking for a/some good numbers lakes for Muskies in the Grand Rapids, Longville areas. We will be fishing the area for a week in August and have decided to hunt for numbers rather than the big girls this year to boost confidence. Bait suggestions will be greatly appreciated too!

Thanks and good luck!

OK lets try this....Of the three lakes, Deer, North Star & Spider which one would be a better choice to concentrate on in August for numbers. I'm looking to boost confidence in bait control (catching), boat side tactics and proper release techniques.

Any help with the above lakes is greatly appreciated!

Hey Wildlineman,One of the best bets for numbers would be baby,it has a good population but not a lot of size.Try white jackpots, suicks or anything slow.Hope this helps.GOOD FISHING.Sorry,I have not fished the lakes you mentioned.

WildFanFisherman,

I have never fished Baby Lake but am interested. Looks like a gin clear lake. Does it have much for weeds or rocks? Plus I don't see a public access on the lake so where would a guy launch a boat?

Thanks much!
Shayne
