LX-7 Soft Case

Since the 2.9 update for the LX7, I have really been liking the unit. But the case has much to be desired.

The thin strap for carrying the unit as you hole hop looks like its about to break. And don't carry the unit by the front flap, as tempting as it is, it is fraying and tearing at the edges from doing that. The stitching is not heavy duty enough for how heavy the unit is. It wouldn't be so heavy if not for the battery.

Just wondering if other LX7 users are experiencing the same thing. And I have only been using it on most weekends only this winter.

I see too that Marcum has a hard plastic cover, any chance this will fit the unit?

Same experience here, I also tried hole hoping using the back slot with my glove on and did not get my hand in the plastic handle inside the case, the unit flopped right out of the case and hit the ice. I wish the strap was just a couple inches longer so that it could be easily placed behind the unit when you set it down instead of it hanging down on the display.

I know that this subject is about the soft case, but i had i question for any one that owns the LX-7. I just recently perchase one and this week, i went out and the system just shut down on me. Checked the battery terminals and seem to be in place, but still no power. Any ideas?

it could be a loose connection or a bad/almost dead battery. Check the tightness of the connections and check the battery with a volt meter. these unit will shut down if the voltage drops below a preset level. I have loose connections on mine at times, so I took a pliers and tightened them a little. now it is not so bad.

as for the orginal post. I noticed the strap but thought nothing of it. I just stick me hand in the slot on the back. the unit is nice but is on the large side for hole hopping. I may pick up a LX5 for hole hopping and use the LX7 in the house.

I agree. Keep the LX7 in the house and get a different unit for banging around on the ice.
