loadmaster
Have an older 250 Timberwolf. My problem it will only start in neutral. The manual says that it should start with brake lever pulled. I think it is the left brake lever that also operates the brake light. I can not figure how the two wires on the lever are connected into the starting system. Also the brake light does not work. Pulled the plug at the lever and the plunger does work. Any help>>>> later the load
pulsar_nx
If you found the wires, a quick and easy fix would be to bypass the switch and short them out with a wire nut. I'm not sure if this has a brake light or just a tail light but if it does it will always be on when shorted out. Just something to keep in mind when turning it off that the key may need to be off as well.
loadmaster
Do you have any idea how it bypass's the natural switch. Somehow, the power to the starter is routed different with lever pulled. >>>later the load
pulsar_nx
The switch on the leaver unlocks the starting circuit when in gear. Since you have the wires found, somehow remove them, put a multimeter on the two wires using either the ohms setting or beeper and pull the leaver watching or listing for a change. If there is none, than either the wire or switch is damaged. Bypassing it at the terminal would allow you to start w/o the brake engaged. If it works, check for loose connections, blown fuse or maybe the bulb is burnt out.
