The Next Advacement in Ice Fishing!

This is some "NEW" technology for ice fishing that I could get behind (Yeah, I'm looking at you, Marcum LX7). From what I can gather, this is best utilized when sitting perfectly still in open water or at least trolling slowly, so the transition to get this unit on the ice would only be easier! The 360 deg 'ducer would have to be on a fixed mount down the hole (A solid arm attached to the base of a portable unit, I'd guess). Then, using the "ticks" that surround the display cone you could judge where structure was relative to the hole.

I could see this in an ice bag, like the 345 and 385 come in, and working well for the guy who has to have it all! You'll still want a graph or flasher mode to catch fish, and I'd assume you may still need an ice 'ducer for that. But for scouting this would be ideal , and it goes as small as the 788 HD units. It may not be cheap but it may be worth the price tag with all that you could find! I could see this replacing your handheld GPS, your camera, and your flasher with one tidy package...
