I put my first tap in this morning in a 20" Boxelder, to test the water. I had about a cup of sap in about 1 hour. Not bad, I think I may tap the rest tomorrow. I do small scale, so only about 10 taps, which means I don't want to miss any. Anyone else tapping trees in MN?

Went home yesterday to find over 1 gallon of sap in the Boxelder bucket. I tapped the remaining boxelder trees and the sap was pouring out. I tapped one sugar maple and it was dry as a bone. I guess the boxelder are running before the sugar maples this year.
