a buddy of mine introduced me to zorro spinnerbaits a few years ago. he's from missouri & apparently they were never marketed up here. they out-produced all the terminators, booyahs, & war eagles that i had! sadly the company stopped producing them. he has about 50 of em but he puts em under lock & key. if anyone knows where to find em i'll pay top dollar for as many as i can get my hands on!!

Are you sure about this? They are my main spinnerbait. When I google them I still find suppliers. I see there are some color changes. But I do not find them on Basspro.

A few years back I was fishing on Lake Francis in south central Mn. I was having good luck in 12 fow with a Texas rig worm. When 10-12 Bass boat blew by me. They all headed to the shallow reeds. A tournament had just started. After boating a few more 18" Bass I thought I give the area a rest and check out the Tournament fishermen. So I moved to the bay on the south end of the lake that was lined with docks. A real Bass fisherman magnet. By this time just about all the boats were lined up and fishing the bay leaving a one dock spacing. As I moved along watching them fish I picked up a pattern. All boats but the first one were throwing spinnerbaits that had white shirts and twin gold willowleaf blades. Something tells me the guy in the third boat and beyond didn't stand much of a chances.

I just though I'd share this little story with you to remind you to not fall in love with one lure. These Fishermen were all doing the same thing, pounding the shallows with the same bait. When most of the fish were in 10-12 fow in weed stubble from the curlyleaf pondweed die off.

Just a tip. I did find that the key to catching the Bass with the Texas rig at that time was to use flourocarbon line. I would think it had to do with the line sitting on or near the bottom. That way when the fish were moving in to check out the lure they weren't swimming into the line and getting spooked.
