Ice Fishing equipment Batteries.

I was just wondering how long the small batteries should last with Ice fishing equipment that gets used fairly often. 3-5 yrs? How Often should a person replace older batteries?

Also, when using sonar has a battery ages, can it cause problems with the units has far as getting the units to mark jigs and things?

I can get about 4+ years out of one if I charge it after each use, charge it regularly during summer storage, and keep it in a cool place when not in use. When the battery power runs low you will definitely see your sonar performance degrade.

3-5 years sounds about right.

As much as I hate to say it I have had really god luck with the WERKER batteries. Thorne Bros. have them priced pretty reasonably. I just picked up a 7.5ah for $20. I have one that is at least 5 years old and is now my backup!
