Picked this piggie up about 11:30 this morn off West Okoboji, saw a mark about 15' above my jig and ripped it up to her and she smoked it.... couple pics and away she went....Was a blast on a 28" perch rod, thanks to my LX-7 and Thorne Brothers perch rod....

Yes there will still be ice.... The 7 rocks, updates are avalible for download right from the net... no matter whn you bought it all can be instantly updated to the latesed greatest software updates...

I was really thinking about getting one, but I've had problems with a Showdown unit & have been leaning more towards a simple solid flasher since they just plain work.The Showdown hasn't convinced me the upgradable stuff is an improvement. I've heard there were some issues with the software that was being fixed, & with it being late in the ice season I think I might wait to upgrade until next year hoping the software issues get figured out. I'd ask how the preformance was in the cold, but I don't think we've had any cold temps to test it yet.

Well the good thing about the LX-7 is you do your own updates from home and for free....Never was a showdown fan untill I saw the vertical screen in color, it's growing on me but still have the flasher on the screen to....BTW within 24 hours the new update will be avalible to the public and Rodgers Cabelas units already have the 2.9 updates....
