GULP minnow heads for Perch?

My wife and I are heading to Cass Lake in a couple weeks to go after some Perch for a couple days. I read a report somewhere saying that they are slamming the GULP minnow heads, has anyone tried these? I have never heard of them, but I looked them up and I see you can get them pretty much everywhere. They come in chartreuse, blood red, and fathead color, which color would be the best for attracting Perch? I know when we fished Cass a couple years ago they were hitting anything red, not sure if that is normal for Perch, or if it just happened to be the color of choice that day, we normally dont fish for them. Any advice on this bait, or any other types of bait or lures we should have with us on Cass?? Thanks

Using any kind of gulp is a hity or miss for me id just get a scoop of crappie minnows and if your slaying the fish or not catching anything then id try the gulp prolly the blood red for cass. Live bait is still your best choice. A pretty good plastic thats hard to go wrong with is a ratso though but it alll depends if the fish are in a feeding frenzy if there not i still tip it with a a waxworm or larvae. Bestt way to find out though is to wet a line grin good luck!
