spent the 16 & 17th on low. got some really nice walleye & saugher but on to the heaters. had both sizes of the mr heater both new & had an awful time getting the pilot light to light & stay lit. also had a 20# tank on the larger one along with a 1# tank. when i did get them running the 1# tanks would run for 20/30 min. frost up & go out. plenty of fuel they just quit. then did a really dumb thing. unhooked the 20 # tank had the smaller heater running had the lg. one in my lap putting in a 1# tank

the 1# tank shot liquid fuel out & it blew up. buddy was outside & said tent jumped up in the air the heater flew out of my lap & hit the marcum breaking the mounting bracket & leaving my shirt on fire. i know said it was dumb just didn't know they could shoot fuel out. anyone else have problems burning all the fuel from the 1# tanks or getting the large one going on a 20# tank

If you have trouble vaporizing fuel using a propane tank in real cold weather, tape a couple of hand warmers on the out side of the tank at or just below the liquid level with duck tape, this will warm the liquid and give you plenty of vapor.

I just had the same thing happen to me, put a 1# tank on it that had been sitting on our unheated front porch all winter. It squirted fuel, which I couldn't smell because of stuffed sinuses, went to light it and poof Mr. Buddy went up in flames. This was inside my new wheelhouse which hasn't even hit the water yet. Grabbed the handle, threw it out the door where it continued to burn for about 90 seconds. After it cooled I unscrewed the tank which continued to hiss fuel.
